Ocean Plastic Bin Map

You're tired of finding litter on your walks by the sea and want to take some initiative?

It starts with you!

Żibel Ocean Plastic Bins

We provide 11 Żibel bins around Malta and Gozo at the coastal areas where you can dispose of unwelcoming beach finds. Below, you will find a map and list of all the bins' locations.

Why do we provide special Żibel bins for ocean plastic?

You might wonder why you should use the Żibel bins for the rubbish you find by the beach instead of regular bins. The reason is that once plastic enters our seas, it becomes degraded by sea salt and UV light – rendering the material brittle, fragmented, and discolored – which makes it largely unusable for recycling.
